PERE VENTURA has been awarded with the gold medal for three of its Gran Reserva cavas at the Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards in Japan, which this year has had a record participation of 4,652 registered wineries from 25 countries around the world .

Specifically, the gold medals have been awarded to Pere Ventura Vintage GR 2015, Pere Ventura Tresor GR 2018 and Pere Ventura Tresor Cuvée Barrique GR 2017 cavas.

The award-winning cavas from PERE VENTURA, in the “sparkling wines” category, are all cavas with a long aging of between three and five years. The long-aged cavas, made with natural yeasts and spontaneous fermentations, are some of the characteristic features that make a difference in PERE VENTURA cavas.

This triple award has been received with “satisfaction” by the winery, “since it is a recognition of the work of the entire winery where every detail counts” comments Sebastià Galimany, winemaker and technical director of the cellar.

PERE VENTURA has participated in the Sakura since the first edition in 2014 and this triple award is added to the awards that Pere Ventura has received for 8 consecutive years “a recognition like this triplet, achieved in a country as demanding as Japan, is a great indicator that our path to excellence is the right one” adds Galimany.


Pere Ventura Vintage GR 2015 is a classic contemporary cava, elegant and with a lot of personality. A long-aged cava, aged 4 years, which gives it complexity, structure and fine, subtle bubbles. Vintage 2015 is only produced in years in which the grapes are of excellent organoleptic and sanitary quality. Vintage 2015 is part of the Vintage Collection, Pere Ventura’s most premium range designed for haute cuisine.

Pere Ventura Tresor GR 2018 is made from the traditional Penedès varieties: Macabeo, Xarel lo and Parellada. It is a fresh, open, direct and very lively cava, which identifies the best wine-producing Penedès and encompasses practically all the sub-areas of the territory.

Pere Ventura Tresor Cuvée Barrique GR 2017 is the gastronomic cava par excellence designed to accompany haute cuisine. A cava with an unctuous texture, structured, that floods the senses with notes of aging that leave no one indifferent. Extraordinary for creative cuisine and to accompany meat or fish with complex flavors.

Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards are a benchmark in the world of wine in Japan. They began their history in 2014 with the first international wine competition judged exclusively by expert women.
