Pere Ventura Group celebrates its 25th Anniversary receiving the best international awards since 1992
Decanter Magazine, Concours Mundial de Bruxelles or the Catalan Premis Vinari have recently commended the Estate wines from Priorat and the Penedès with the best recognitions.
2017 has been a very special year for Pere Ventura’s personal project. Pionner in the Penedès and in Catalonia at reaching new quality cava markets around the world, Pere Ventura Group shines in at late 2017 for having achieved exceptional ratings in the international press.
Regarding this recent public recognitions, we can particularly point to Decanter’s journalist and Master of Wine Rebbecca Gibb, who recently selected Gran Vintage 2012 GR by Pere Ventura among the top list ‘Gibb’s picks of Premium cavas’ from Decanter’s October last publication.
In the same way, the company’s flagship cava ‘Tresor’ has been recently awarded as well: a precious Gold Medal at Concours Mundial de Bruxelles, the most relevant wine competition in Belgium.
Also, Decanter World Wine Awards 2017, the most important wine competition worldwide, has recognized La Romana 2015 wine as Can Bas top Estate white with 92 points. The same way, another wine grown at Can Bas La Creu 2016 has been awarded with a Gold Medal in the most important Sauvignon Blanc wine competition, the French Concours Mundial du Sauvignon.
Additionally, 2017 has been a great success for Mervm Priorati as well – Pere Ventura’s project in the Priorat. The Catalan wine competition Premis Vinari awarded Destí 2014 – an exceptional Grenache and Carignane cupage – with a Broze Medal and shortlisted among the best 800 Catalan wines from 2017.
In such positive context, we could not have found a better moment to release a new Pere Ventura Cava: Tresor Anniversary 2013 Gran Reserva. This new Gran Reserva, has been defined by the wine expert Ramon Francas as “A Gran Reserva from a great vintage. Although it has been aged for more than 41 months, Tresor Anniversary is fine and elegant. It does not seem having such long ageing according to its very short evolution (including its colour). Therefore, I consider this capacity to last such an achievement.
