The prestigious North American magazine Wine Spectator, a world authority in the world of wines, has just published the list of the 100 best wines in the world, among which Mervm Priorati Destí 2018 from the winery that Pere Ventura has in Priorat, has risen to the podium in fourth place, out of more than 12,500 wines tasted, from all over the world.
With a score of 95 out of 100, Destí 2018 is a wine made in Mervm Priorati winery, located in the town of Porrera, in the heart of Priorat. Destí 2018 is a wine marked by the exceptional wine-growing conditions of this territory, a reflection and expression of the terroir, made under the precepts of respect for the land, history and perfectionism at work.
With a limited production of 8,778 bottles, Destí 2018 is a blend of Grenache and Carignan from Finca La Plana Marjot and Syrah from Les Escomelles. The Pere Ventura estate in Priorat has 123 hectares, 24 are from vineyards between 15 and 92 years old.
Wine Spectator’s recognition as the fourth Best Wine in the World 2021 has been received with great satisfaction, after the PERE VENTURA cellar was also selected in 2019 in the list of the Top 100 Wineries of The World, by Wine & Spirits, being the only sparkling wine winery in Spain that enjoyed this distinction.
Apart from Destí, Mervm Priorati also produces two other red wines, Inici and El Cel, which have already accumulated national and international awards and distinctions.
